• Q. Where is the Admission office located?

  If visiting the Admission Office, please enter from the front (Wadley) side and park in one of our visitor spots near the flagpole (or in any unmarked space). The Admission Office will be on your left as you come up the walkway from the flagpole.

• Q. How can I sign up to tour the Trinity Campus? Do I need to submit an application before my family can tour Trinity?

  You can sign up for a tour by contacting the Admission Office, but we encourage you to attend our Open Houses. You do not need to be an applicant to tour Trinity. If you are applying in the future, please first come to an Open House as this is the best opportunity to see the campus, hear about our program, and meet our faculty. Attending a tour is not a requirement in our admission process.

• Q. When will we receive our Admissions decision?

  Trinity issues new family contracts on the Friday before spring break.

• Q. Do you accept new students in the middle of the year?

  We do accept mid-year admissions if space allows. Contact the Admission Office to determine availability in your grade level.

• Q. If we choose to re-apply for admission, do we need to submit a new application this year?

  Yes. Students must apply each year that they wish to be considered for admission to Trinity.

• Q. Does my child need to retake the admissions testing if we are re-applying?

  Yes, your child will need to complete the entire admission process again, including taking admission testing, if they are applying for grades 5-12.

• Q. When can I apply for the next school year?

  We begin taking applications in August for the school year beginning the following August, one year away. Applications are accepted continuously even when a wait pool forms, in case space becomes available.

• Q. What does the Preschool and Kindergarten assessment include?

  Preschool and Kindergarten assessment determines readiness for starting school. Children will be asked to complete age-appropriate tasks, including counting, patterns, and letter recognition. Students do not necessarily need to know everything on the assessment; we are looking for interest and readiness to learn.

• Q. Can I send in my child's report card or should I have the school send in a transcript?

  We prefer to receive report cards and testing directly from the school. Use our Records Release form to make this request. If school transcripts are not possible, please contact the Admission Office to make alternate arrangements.

• Q. How do I sign up for the assessment?

  Testing dates and registration for grades 5-12 can be found online. Preschool assessments are scheduled through the Admission Office, and you will be contacted in January if your application is on file.

• Q. Trinity is our first choice. Should we apply to other schools?

  We strongly recommend that you apply to other schools in the area as well as explore your public school options. With a limited number of available spots, admission is not guaranteed at Trinity.

• Q. How diverse is Trinity?

  Trinity prides itself on the diversity of our student body. Each year, we seek to enroll students from a variety of ethnic, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds. Currently, 27% of our families self-identify as a family of color.

• Q. Is Trinity a religious school? Is it affiliated with a church?

  Although Trinity was founded by the Episcopal Church, it is now an independent school with no governing ties to the church. While we keep our Christian roots through our daily chapel program, our curriculum is independent from religious oversight.

• Q. Do you have a Preschool program?

  Yes. Our two year old classes are offered at the following times:
  

  • 7:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. 
  • 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. 
  • 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. 

  
  Full-day preschool for three (PreK-3) and four (PreK-4) year olds is offered from 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with the option for extended care.

• Q. How can I prepare my child for their visit day and/or assessment?

  Preparing for visit and assessment is not necessary, as what they are doing in school daily is sufficient. Dress your child in comfortable clothing. We suggest avoiding language like “testing” or “observing.” You can tell your child that they are coming to spend time at Trinity. We find that children are more relaxed when their parents are relaxed.

• Q. What test scores should my child have to be accepted to Trinity?

  Test scores are only one aspect of a student’s file. A broad range of test scores exists among those students accepted by Trinity, and we do not have a cutoff score for admission.

• Q. What is the best way to prepare for a testing day?

  We encourage you to consider the admission process as a way of finding the best school for your child. As a result, we hope that your child will feel calm and relaxed throughout the process. Keeping your family’s standard routine the night before testing will help ensure your child is well rested on testing day.

• Q. If my child is on the wait list, when will we find out if they will be offered a space or not?

  We will contact families if we are able to offer a spot off the waitlist. The waitlist stays open throughout summer and even during the school year in the case of mid-year openings. Families do not need to check on their waitlist status, as they will receive communication from our office should a spot open.

• Q. Do you have an after school program?

  Our Children’s Enrichment Center (CEC) is open 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. to allow parents to extend their child’s school day. Space is limited, so we recommend parents sign up early if they need this option.

• Q. How can I find out the status of my child's application?

  Once all items on your checklist have been marked complete, your child’s file will be complete.

• Q. What is the best way to send information (e.g. report cards, recommendations, etc.) to Trinity?

• Q. Can I submit first quarter grades for the current school year?

  No. We will only accept grades from a full semester or trimester of the current school year.

• Q. When is the best time to tour the campus?

  The best time to tour our campus is in the fall preceding the year you wish to enroll. This timeframe will allow us to share the most current information about Trinity prior to all application and testing deadlines. Trinity School has Open Houses each fall for our Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. Prospective families can tour the campus, speak with faculty and students, and hear from the Director of Admission about the application process. If you do not attend the Open House but still wish to see our campus, please contact the Admission office to schedule a tour.

• Q. Can prospective students visit a class or spend a day at Trinity?

  Yes, children applying for grades 1-12 are offered a visit day. While not required, visits are recommended during the Admission process.

• Q. How does having multiple children applying for grades affect the admissions process?

  Each candidate is considered for admission based on his or her own application and appropriateness of fit for Trinity, regardless of siblings or relatives going through the process at the same time. While we hope to keep families together, this is not always guaranteed.

• Q. Does Trinity offer financial aid or scholarships?

  Trinity has a generous need-based financial aid budget. The admission process is need-blind, so applying for financial aid will not affect the school’s admission decision. Please refer to the Financial Aid page.

• Q. If we live outside Midland, how do we handle the admission process?

  Individual arrangements for visits and testing can be made for those who live out of town. Please contact our office to coordinate the timing of your visit.
